Accessibility

This accessibility statement applies to BookingsPlus. This website is run by Kajima Community. This website is currently in the BETA phase. This means we are actively developing the platform. As additional website pages and functionality are introduced, this accessibility statement will evolve.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We have also made the website text as simple as possible so that it is easy to understand.

How accessible is this website?

The accessibility test on the website has highlighted some key findings listed below. The full list of high and medium severity findings is given in a later section of this document.

  • Floor plans are saved as images and text-to-speech applications may not work well with explaining the floor plans.
  • Certain elements do not have a suitable contrast ratio.
  • Some form fields do not have the correct autocomplete setting, which may prevent browsers and assistive technologies from automatically filling in the information.
  • Some links are identified only by their colour and do not have an underline, which may make them difficult for some users to recognise as links.
  • When availability results are added to the page, screen readers do not announce the update, so users who rely on screen readers may not be aware that new results are available.

How we tested this website

This website was last tested on 17th August 2026 using an automated site accessibility software against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard.

You will find the results of the latest test in this accessibility statement. The next test is scheduled for end of Q1 2027.

When concluding the BETA phase, the website will undergo a formal accessibility test.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

We are committed to making our website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

The following issues are rated as high in terms of the severity of impact:

  • Some interactive elements on the screens have names which are not accessible by assistive technologies. This fails the WCAG 2.2 success criterion SC 4.1.2 and SC 1.1.1
  • The contrast between the foreground and background colours may not meet WCAG 2AA minimum contrast ratio thresholds based on the website set up. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criteria SC 1.4.3
  • Some links on the pages are not clearly identifiable from surrounding text as they are not using distinct style or colour. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criteria SC 1.4.1
  • Some non-text elements, such as textboxes and checkboxes, may not meet the minimum 3:1 contrast ratio against surrounding colors based on the website set up. This fails the WCAG 2.2 success criteria SC1.4.1.1
  • The search elements on some pages are not placed within a landmark region to make it easily discoverable by assistive technologies, such as screen readers. This fails the WCAG 2.2 success criterion SC 1.3.1 and SC 2.4.1
  • The borders of text inputs and dropdowns may not meet the minimum 3:1 contrast ratio against the white background based on the website set up. This may affect form on the website, including sign in, sign up and booking enquiry. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.11.

We aim to solve all of the above high-priority problems by the next test.

The following issues are rated as medium in terms of the severity of impact

  • Some form fields on the web pages do not use auto-complete attribute with a valid input. This fails the WCAG 2.2 success criteria SC 1.3.5
  • Some images on the web pages do not have meaningful alt text to describe their content and purpose. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criteria SC 1.1.1
  • When a user checks availability on the booking enquiry form, the results are added to the page without being announced to screen reader users. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 4.1.3.

The medium severity accessibility problems will be reviewed and will be worked on after the high-priority problems have been addressed.
